Achievements and Prospects of Research on Forage Germplasm Resources in China

The research contents and the direction assignments of forage germplasm resources were put forward in this paper.Analysing results showed that there were faster development and greater achievements in many respect though later beginning.For example,the key techniques and the methods were solved,the preliminary investigation of forage diversity was made,a large amout of forge germplasm resources was collected, the advanced conservation installation was established, some specese seeds were conserved and furnished,the definication and evalution of forge were completed, the improved varieties for production were choosed and inital information service system was established.Aiming at the main problems,strategies were suggested that the key techniques and methods would be solved in conservation and ultization.The emphatical collecting and deep studying sould be made,so as to accelarate the development and to serve for scientific research and practical production.At the same time,development direction and applied prospect were also discussed.
