后殖民主义理论是原先被殖民的国家在获得军事和政治上的独立之后,殖民国家不得不换用一种更为隐蔽的殖民方式以达到采用原先＂殖民主义＂不再能顺畅达到目的的情况下产生的一种理论。这种理论的逻辑起点是经济发展的不平衡及其内部指向的生产关系的压迫性。从其理论产生的出发点考虑,它加深了我们对西方文化霸权和资本主义利欲本质的认识,从而提醒我们要时刻保持警惕,本质上,它是不适用于我国少数民族文学批评的。
