Angular dependent NEXAFS study of the molecular orientation of PTCDA multilayers on Au （111） surface

The molecular orientation of perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (PTCDA) multilayers adsorbed on Au (111) surface has been investigated using angular dependent O K-edge near edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy. The significant angular dependence of important resonant structures (π* and σ*) reveals that PTCDA molecules adopt an ordered geometry on the substrate surface. The average tilt angle of the PTCDA molecular planes is 27°±10° from the Au (111) surface.     

现代维吾尔语的词性标注校对技术研究

近些年来语料库语言学的发展较为迅速,语料库的建设成为一项重要的工作.在对语料加工的过程中,保证词性标注的一致性也成为建设高质量语料库的重要问题.目前国内外对汉语语料库词性标注结果的校对,还停留在人工校对上,对词性标注结果不一致现象尚未进行系统的研究.对于词性标注方法不是很成熟的维吾尔语语料库来说,词性校对方面的研究工作更少.首先概要介绍了一种维吾尔语的标注方法,并受一些文献的启发,根据维吾尔语的特点对其进行词性标注自动校对的研究,并分析其适用于维吾尔语词性校对的可行性,进而提高维吾尔语词性标注的正确率.     

Mutations in 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase cause primary hypertrophic osteoarthropathy

Digital clubbing, recognized by Hippocrates in the fifth century BC, is the outward hallmark of pulmonary hypertrophic osteoarthropathy, a clinical constellation that develops secondary to various acquired diseases, especially intrathoracic neoplasm. The pathogenesis of clubbing and hypertrophic osteoarthropathy has hitherto been poorly understood, but a clinically indistinguishable primary (idiopathic) form of hypertrophic osteoarthropathy (PHO) is recognized. This familial disorder can cause diagnostic confusion, as well as significant disability. By autozygosity methods, we mapped PHO to chromosome 4q33-q34 and identified mutations in HPGD, encoding 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase, the main enzyme of prostaglandin degradation. Homozygous individuals develop PHO secondary to chronically elevated prostaglandin E(2) levels. Heterozygous relatives also show milder biochemical and clinical manifestations. These findings not only suggest therapies for PHO, but also imply that clubbing secondary to other pathologies may be prostaglandin mediated. Testing for HPGD mutations and biochemical testing for HPGD deficiency in patients with unexplained clubbing might help to obviate extensive searches for occult pathology.     

Implementation Study Tree Computation on of Dynamic Load Balancing Algorithm of Parallel Clusters of Heterogeneous Workstation

The rapid growth of interconnected high performance workstations has produced a new computing paradigm called clustered of workstations computing. In these systems load balance problem is a serious impediment to achieve good performance. The main concern of this paper is the implementation of dynamic load balancing algorithm, asynchronous Round Robin （ARR）, for balancing workload of parallel tree computation depth-first-search algorithm on Cluster of Heterogeneous Workstations （ COW ） Many algorithms in artificial intelligence and other areas of computer science are based on depth first search in implicitty defined trees. For these algorithms a load- balancing scheme is required, which is able to evenly distribute parts of an irregularly shaped tree over the workstations with minimal interprocessor communication and without prior knowledge of the tree＇s shape. For the （ ARR ） algorithm only minimal interprocessor communication is needed when necessary and it runs under the MPI （Message passing interface） that allows parallel execution on heterogeneous SUN cluster of workstation platform. The program code is written in C language and executed under UNIX operating system （Solaris version）.     

The gene disrupted in Marinesco-Sjögren syndrome encodes SIL1, an HSPA5 cochaperone

We identified the gene underlying Marinesco-Sj?gren syndrome, which is characterized by cerebellar ataxia, progressive myopathy and cataracts. We identified four disease-associated, predicted loss-of-function mutations in SIL1, which encodes a nucleotide exchange factor for the heat-shock protein 70 (HSP70) chaperone HSPA5. These data, together with the similar spatial and temporal patterns of tissue expression of Sil1 and Hspa5, suggest that disturbed SIL1-HSPA5 interaction and protein folding is the primary pathology in Marinesco-Sj?gren syndrome.     

Hyperthyroidism and gonadotropin secretion in male and female rats

Résumé Chez des rats adultes, mâles et femelles, traités à la triidothyronine (T₃), on a remarqué une perte de poids qui n'est pas dûe à une diminution de consommation de nourriture. Les niveaux sériques de l'hormone lutéinisante semblent être réduits par le traitement au T₃ chez les rats femelles, mais non pas chez les rats mâles. Le niveau sérique de l'hormone stimulante de la follicule et le niveau pituitaire de gonadotropines ne sont pas affectés de façon significative par le traitement au T₃.
