Stylistic Analysis of Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

This paper analyzes the poem Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost from stylistic perspective.Based on the analysis of stylistic features in terms of phonological,lexical,syntactic and semantic levels,it is revealed that regular rhythm and rhyme,colloquial lexicon, pithy syntax,vivid image and lots of symbols make this poem melodious,easy to understand but filled with deep connotative meaning.     

Literature Review of Performing Complaint with VariousDegrees of Strength of its Illocutionary Force

This paper reviews three studies on strength of the illocutionary force of performing complaint.It is shown that different scholars examine the preconditions for performing complaint with various degrees of strength of the illocutionary force from various perspectives.The drawbacks of previous research are also analyzed in this review.

Politeness Strategies in English and Chinese Business Letters

This paper explores similarities and differences in the application of positive and negative politeness strategies to English and Chinese business letters and illuminates underlying causes of such similarities and differences.The results indicate that English and Chinese business letters have some common features and great discrepancies in categories and the distribution of positive and negative politeness strategies.It is argued that common situational factors,different cultural backgrounds and different syntactic features result in their similarities and differences.
