The Challenging Topics and Future Directions of the Research in Limnology and Watershed Sciences

Based on reviewing the problems in limnology and watershed sciences in meeting the national demands and the development of theories and methodology, this paper proposed some challenging topics to the sciences, covering the process of lake evolution and the quantitative analysis of human impacts, in -lake nutrient cycling an biogeo-chemical process, the process and mechanisms of material flow in lake-watershed system, digital watershed and the modeling of the surface process of lake -watershed, and ecosystem health and scientific management of lake-watershed.     

AVAILABILITY ANALYSIS OF THE QUEUEING SYSTEM GI/PH/I WITH SERVER BREAKDOWNS

In the existing literature of Repairable Queueing Systems (RQS), i.e., queueing systems with server breakdowns, it is almost all assumed that interarrival times of successive customers are independent, identically exponentially distributed. In this paper, we deal with more generic system GI/PH/1 with server's exponential uptime and phase-type repair time. With matrix analysis theory, we establish the equilibrium condition and the characteristics of the system, derive the transient and stationary availability behavior of the system.

A subset of S of the vertex set of a graph G is called acyclic if the subgraph it induces in G contains no cycles. S is called an acyclic dominating set of G if it. is both acyclic and dominating. The minimum cardinality of an acyclic dominating set, denoted by 7a(G), is called the acyclic domination number of G. S. M. Hedetniemi et al. on 2000 introduced the concept of acyclic domination and posed the following open problem: Is -ya(G) < <5(G) for any graph whose diameter is two? In this paper, we give a counterexample which disproves the problem.

Influence of rarefaction wave on premixed flame structure and propagation behavior

To explore the influence of rarefaction wave on the structure and propagation behavior of the premixed propane/air flame in a rectangle combustion pipe, the techniques of high speed Schlieren photograph method, pressure measurement and so on are used to study the interaction processes between rarefaction wave and flame. Two cases of rarefaction wave-flame interaction were performed in the experiment. The experimental result shows that both the rarefaction waves can cause the flame transition from laminar to turbulent combustion quickly. The cowflow rarefaction wave decreases the flame speed, while the counterflow rarefaction wave leads the flame propagation speed to increasing on the whole, accompanied with sharp vibration.     

第五届全国科学方法论学术讨论会综述

2006年12月8日至10日,由中国自然辩证法研究会方法论委员会、武汉商贸学院和武汉东湖高新技术工业园联合举办的第五届全国科学方法论学术讨论会在武汉举行。来自全国各地的47名专家学者参加了讨论。其中,有近20名学者在会议上做了主题发言。

交流变频变速系统机械特性的测试与分析

本文就交流变频变换系统的转速。转矩特性和转速跟踪特性进行了较为系统的测试与分析。研究了结果表明，交流变频调速系统在低转速区段确定存在转矩出力不大的问题，须采取相应的提升措施，交流变频变速系统的转速跟踪特性可以变速切削加工的要求。
