Synthesis of rhodotorucine A,the inducing factor of mating tube formation ofRhodosporidium toruloides

Summary The inducing factor of mating tube formation ofRhodosporidium turuloides, named rhodotorucine A (H-Tyr-Pro-Glu-Ile-Ser-Trp-Thr-Arg-Asn-Gly-Cys(S-farnesyl)-OH), has been synthesized to confirm the structure proposed for the natural lipopeptide. The synthetic S-farnesyl undecapeptide has identical Rf values on TLC using several different solvents, and also the same biological activity as the natural hormone.Acknowledgments. Zusammenfassung Die Sauerstoffdissoziationskurve vomLatimeria-Blut zeigt eine grössere Affinität zu Sauerstoff bei 15°C (P₅₀=2–3 mm) als bei 28°C (P₅₀=18.0 mm). Diese Unterschiede und die geringe Sauerstoffkapazität sind für eine Diskussion über das Überleben des Fisches beim Aufsteigen aus grosser Tiefe an die Gewässeroberfläche massgebend.     

Additive and synergistic inhibition of mammalian microsomal enzyme functions by piperonyl butoxide,safrole and other methylenedioxyphenyl derivatives

Zusammenfassung Piperonylbutoxyd, Methylendioxylanilin, Methyleugenol, Safranol und Vanillylamin bewirken eine additive Hemmung der Funktion mikrosomaler Enzyme in Mäusen, wenn sie zusammen in Dosen verabreicht werden, die einzeln inaktiv sind. Piperonylbutoxyd und Safranol induzieren synergistisch die Hemmung von Aminopyrenedemethylase-Aktivität. Es erfolgte keine synergistische Hemmung nach kombinierter Behandlung mit Pib. und hohen Dosen der strukturell verwandten, aber inaktiven Piperonylsäure.
