Summary Basophil-rich infiltrates in regional lymph nodes of guinea-pigs were demonstrated by electron microscopy after the intradermal injection of T cell mitogens (PHA and Con A). Basophils infiltrated the stroma of the lymph node via the postcapillary venules (PCV) and migrated to the paracortex. Prior to infiltration of the lymph nodes a cutaneous basophil hypersensitivity reaction was seen in the mitogen-injected skin. B cell mitogen (LPS) injection did not induce this response.  相似文献

Summary A new rapid method for measuring intra-cellular water content by gas chromatography and an isotopic (3H-sucrose) technique is described. Water content of circulating red cells was revealed to be 71.26±0.31%. Intra-cellular water content increased to 102.9% of its original value following addition of 3 volumes of acid-citrate-dextrose (ACD) to 20 volumes of blood.  相似文献

Summary The subcommissural organ (SCO) of the congenital hydrocephalus spontaneously occurring in CWS/Idr rats was severely reduced in size and displaced at some distance from the anterior end of the cerebral aqueduct. The cerebral aqueduct of the hydrocephalic rats was open throughout its total length during postnatal days 1–20, though it was somewhat narrower at its middle region than in the normal brain.  相似文献

Summary The in situ activity of 3-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase was detected in clustered cells which showed steroid-producing morphology, within the capsule of the paraaortic lymph node. In light and electron microscopic studies, the positive reaction products were detected on intracapsular cell clusters. Microstructure characterization has become indispensable to the study of complex materials, such as strongly correlated oxides, and can obtain useful information about the origin of their physical properties. Although atomically resolved measurements have long been possible, an important goal in microstructure characterization is to achieve element-selective imaging at atomic resolution. A combination of scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS) is a promising technique for atomic-column analysis. However, two-dimensional analysis has not yet been performed owing to several difficulties, such as delocalization in inelastic scattering or instrumentation instabilities. Here we demonstrate atomic-column imaging of a crystal specimen using localized inelastic scattering and a stabilized scanning transmission electron microscope. The atomic columns of La, Mn and O in the layered manganite La1.2Sr1.8Mn2O7 are visualized as two-dimensional images.  相似文献

The newly discovered iron-chalcogenide superconductorKxFe2ySe2exhibits a distinct electronic structure from other iron-based superconductors.Exploiting polarization-dependent angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy,we have determined the orbital characters of band structure in aKxFe2ySe2superconductor.To a large extent,we find thatKxFe2ySe2superconductor shares similar orbital characters with other iron-based superconductors,but with its own characteristics.For example,we have resolved two highly degenerate electron cylinders around the zone corner in the s and p geometries,respectively,indicating negligible interactions between them.Moreover,in contrast to the band calculation results,the small electron pocket around Z is found to be mainly consisted of the d z 2 orbital.The determined orbital characters would help to construct a realistic model forKxFe2ySe2.  相似文献
