Extracellular calcium concentration and catecholamine release from adrenal medulla by acetylcholine and potassium

Zusammenfassung Nachweis an der isolierten perfundierten Rindernebenniere (5 ml/min), dass die Acetylcholin- oder Kalium-Stimulation der Catecholaminaus-schüttung bei fehlendem Calcium gleichmässig verhindert war. Ferner wurde die geringste Calciumkonzentration für den Ausschüttungsreiz bestimmt.

Development of the steady potential differences of the eyeball in chick embryos

Résumé Le potentiel D. C. mesuré sur la surface du globe oculaire de l'embryon de poulet croît à partir du 15 ème jour de 0.92±0.21 mV jusqu' à 9.26±0.76 mV au 21 ème jour l'incubation. L'augmentation maximum se situe entre le 17 ème et 18ème jour (2.57 et 6.61 mV). Elle correspond à la mise en jeu de l'appareil visuel afférent. La stabilité du potentiel D. C. du globe oculaire est directement proportionnelle à sa valeut.

Zusammenfassung Die Oxydation des Gallenfarbstoffs Bilirubin mit Perjodsäure in wässeriger Dimethylsulfoxid-Lösung führte zu einem neuen Biliverdin-Jod-Komplex, dem die Struktur eines «charge-transfer»-Komplexes erteilt wurde.

Inhibition of mammalian acetylcholinesterase by phenylmethanesulfonyl fluoride

Resumen El fenilmentano sulfonil fluoro (FMSF) 4×10^–5 M inhibe a la acetilcolinesterasa (E. C. 3.1.1.7) de cerebro de rata en más de 50%, y 9×10^–4 M más de 90%. La constante de reacción inhibidor enzima es de 4.7×10² (1 mol^–1 min^–1). La colinesterasa (E. C. 3.1.1.8) de cerebro de rata es insensible a FMSF.

Permeation of purine derivatives into the cerebrospinal fluid of dogs

Zusammenfassung Der Übertritt verschiedener Purinderivate in den Liquor cerebrospinalis nach i.v. Injektion wurde an Hunden untersucht. Coffein permeiert sehr schnell, Theobromin und Theophyllin ungleich langsamer. Dies steht in Einklang mit der unterschiedlichen Lipoidlöslichkeit dieser Substanzen. AAT hingegen tritt nur in geringer Konzentration in den Liquor über, obwohl es die höchste Lipoidlöslichkeit aufweist.     

Storage of purified plant viruses in the unfrozen state free of microbial contamination

Résumé On décrit une méthode d'accumulation des virus végétaux. Elle ne comprend pas la congélation ou la conservation chimique. La contamination microbienne est évitée par filtration á travers un microfiltre aseptique placé dans un réservoir également aseptique.
