本文报告两个关于中文信息处理研究的结果:(1)采用Cover的方法,猜估中文信息熵,实验表明,中文信良熵不大于4.1bits/字。(2)根据中文的结构特性,选择Welch型的Lemple-Ziv数据压缩算法,把它移植、扩展于中文文本压缩上。应用该算法于不同类型的中文文本,本文获得一些中文文本压缩实际性能值。  相似文献

Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is a form of non-insulin-dependent (type 2) diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) which is characterized by an early age at onset and an autosomal dominant mode of inheritance. Except for these features, the clinical characteristics of patients with MODY are similar to those with the more common late-onset form(s) of NIDDM. Previously we observed tight linkage between DNA polymorphisms in the glucokinase gene on the short arm of chromosome 7 and NIDDM in a cohort of sixteen French families having MODY. Glucokinase is an enzyme that catalyses the formation of glucose-6-phosphate from glucose and may be involved in the regulation of insulin secretion and integration of hepatic intermediary metabolism. Because the glucokinase gene was a candidate for the site of the genetic lesion in these families, we scanned this gene for mutations. Here we report the identification of a nonsense mutation in the gene encoding glucokinase and its linkage with early-onset diabetes in one family. To our knowledge, this result is the first evidence implicating a mutation in a gene involved in glucose metabolism in the pathogenesis of NIDDM.  相似文献

Summary In normotensive and genetically hypertensive Wistar rats, chronic renal denervation reduces renal cortical levels of noradrenaline and dopamine by more than 90%. An incipient form of tongue projection occurs in Phrynocephalus helioscopus, a generalized agamid lizard. We argue that this condition represents a functional intermediate between typical lingual prehension and chamaeleontid tongue projection, and that tongue projection evolved in chameleons by augmentation of ancestral mechanisms still operating in related, generalized lizards.  相似文献

The insulin-like growth factors IGF-I and IGF-II are required for growth and development. Both are single-chain proteins (of 70 and 67 amino acids respectively) derived from precursors by proteolytic processing. IGF-I may be particularly important in promoting normal stature and IGF-II may be a fetal growth hormone. The IGF proteins are probably synthesized by many normal tissues and by some tumours. The secretion of growth factors by tumours and tumour-derived cell lines suggests that they may act as autocrine regulators of cell proliferation. Because of the possible role of these proteins in growth disorders and cancer, and their sequence homology with insulin, we have determined their chromosomal localization. Using somatic cell hybrids and cloned cDNA probes for these proteins, we have assigned the genes for IGF-I and IGF-II to human chromosomes 12 and 11, respectively. We present evidence that the IGF-II gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 11 with a ras proto-oncogene and the insulin structural gene, and also suggest the existence of a fragment length polymorphism using the IGF-I probe.  相似文献

Summary Proctodaea of European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis) and gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar) last instars (larvae) contain prothoracicotropic factors that stimulate the prothoracic glands (PGs) of the gypsy moth to produce both ecdysone and 3-dehydroecdysone (precursors to the insect molting hormone) in a dose-dependent manner. In a separate in vivo assay, injections of proctodaeal extracts into gypsy moth larvae that were head-ligated before the release of the molt-stimulating brain hormone, PTTH, resulted in a pupal molt.  相似文献
