Polyvinylchloride (PVC) particles implantation in mouse liver. A technique for experimental study of schistosome eggs-induced liver pathology

Summary An injection of suspended PVC particles in the caecal vein of mice induces a foreign-body portal granuloma reaction in the liver. Plastic casts of the portal system, after PVC particles implantation, show modifications in the portal bed and are compared with plastic casts obtained in mice infested bySchistosoma mansoni. This technique can be useful to study the cellular dynamics of the portal granuloma and can be a model for schistosomal eggs induced liver pathology.This work was supported by an ATP (INSERM) 18.75.41 and a scholarship from the Société d'Hépatologie Expérimentale.     

Interaction of specific antibody precursor cells in vitro with a bacterial somatic antigen

Zusammenfassung Es gelingt durch niedertourige Differentialzentrifugierung normaler Milzzellen der Maus, in vitro mitE.-coli-Suspensionen inkubiert, den Grobteil der Vorläufer Antikörper bildender Zellen abzutrennen, welche zusammen mitE. coli spezifische Agglutinine bilden konnten. Dies war durch Erfassung bakterieller «Kolonieverklumpung» in Empfänger-Mäusen zu bestimmen.

Zusammenfassung Nachweis, dass «Plaque»-bildende Antikörperzellen gegen somatische Antigene vonVibrio cholerae sich in der Milz immunisierter Mäuse schnell und «treppenartig» nach übereinstimmender Latenzzeit von 42 h entwickeln, ohne dass dabei ein «background» an Antikörper bildenden Zellen zu erfassen war.     

Demonstration of anti-hydralazine antibody in hydralazine inducedLupus erythematosus

Résumé La présence d'un facteur anti-hydralazine, probablement un anticorps, a été démontrée par l'emploi d'une technique d'hémagglutination dans le sérum d'un malade qui manifestait des symptômes de lupus érythémateux après un long traitement avec de l'hydralazine. Le même facteur anti-hydralazine a été observé dans le sérum des lapins qui avaient reçu des injections répétées d'émulsion d'hydralazine dans un adjuvant.
