Address at the Opening Ceremony of the 22nd International Congress of History of Science

Honorable Council members of the DHS, Chairs of Delegations, Distinguished Guests, Lances and Gentlemen ： On behalf of the Chinese host, I sincerely and warmly welcome you to Beijing and the 22^nd International Congress of the History of Science. To my knowledge, in the 76 years of its history, this is only the second time that the Congress is being held in the Far East, and is also the second time the Congress is meeting in a developing country.     

The Chinese Journal for the History Science and Technology

The Chinese Journal for the History of Science and Technology （known as China Historical Materials of Science and Technology from 1980 to 2004） is the official publication of the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology and the Institute for the History of Natural Science, Chinese Academy of Science. It is foremost vehicle for the scholarship of professional historians of science in China, published quarterly by China Science and Technology Press.

通过对第22届国际科学史大会上数学史的特邀报告、主题讨论会和论文报告的全面分析，我们看到传统内史型的数学史研究依然具有重要的生命力，但新的“热点”更应值得关注，比如，“多元文化之间数学知识的交流与传播”就已成为新的主流。为了应对“全球化和文化多样性”带来的挑战，这次国际科学史大会上展现出的新思想、新视角和新进路，对于中国数学史是十分重要的。     

李约瑟《中国科学技术史》与中国自然科学史研究室的成立

李约瑟的《中国科学技术史》第一卷（1954年）出版之后，中国科学院做出了积极的回应。副院长竺可桢邀请并组织叶企孙、陈桢、谭其骧等学者对它进行了评介，科学院对李约瑟还进行了资助。中国学者对此卷既有高度的评价，也有具体的批评。中国科学院派遣代表团参加第八届国际科学史大会又与李约瑟直接相关。李约瑟的中国科学技术史研究对中国科学院成立中国自然科学史研究室起到了促进作用。科学史学科在新中国诞生后迅速走上建制化之路，主要是在20世纪50年代初中国共产党和人民政府特别提倡爱国主义的时代背景下，由于竺可桢等科学院领导的倡导和支持、李约瑟与苏联的积极影响等多种因素综合作用的结果。     

《中国古代动物学史》一书史料引用问题

中国古代动物学史郭都、李约瑟、成庆泰著北京：科学出版社1999年2月第1版639页由郭郛、李约瑟（J0sephNeedham）和成庆泰三位学者撰写的《中国古代动物学史》本年初已由科学出版社出版，这是一件值得庆贺的事，因为她是英国著名学者李约瑟主编的《中国科学与文明》中首次先以中文出版（准备译成英文）的一卷。三位作者中的一位已经作古，另二位也已年逾古稀，他们以渊博的现代科学知识和巨大的精力撰成此书，读来使人受益匪浅。对于她的成就和价值一定会得到表彰。作为科学史著作，一个极为重要的方面就是对原始史料的正确引用、准确分析…     

论茅以升的工程科技思想

茅以升积数十年对科学、技术、工程的本质和特征及其相互关系的探索,提出:科学为工程之母,工程泽被科学,两者相辅相成;科学是知,技术是行,知行在实践中合一;生产中来,生产中去,科学为生产服务,学科中来,学科中去,生产为科学服务等思想。茅以升上述工程科技思想时至今日仍不乏理论价值和现实意义,是工程哲学和中国近现代工程史研究的重要内容之一。     

一部汇精集萃、推陈出新的扛鼎之作——读《中国科学技术史·数学卷》有感

《中国科学技术史·数学卷》在中国数学史研究的广度和深度上都有新的拓展,是对截止到21世纪初中国数学史研究成果的最新全面总结.同时,该书又从总体上对中国数学史研究提出了一些新观点和新方法,其中特别是尊重原始文献一项,应该引起数学史研究者的足够重视.     

《地学志》评介

地学志杨文衡著见：《中华文化通志》第7典《科学技术）上海人民出版社1999年1月第l版482资在我国地学史研究方面,新近一部值得称道的著作问世。这就是杨文衡先生撰著的《地学志入该书是第一部将我国地学从古代至现代的发展历史进行了较系统和全面阐述的著作。首先,在我国地学史研究中,长期以来倒重于地学的分支学科,特别是地理学史的研究。实际上,我国古代的“地”的观念,就是综合的地学观念,既包括地理学的内容也包括地质学的内容。《周易·系辞下》中有“古者包特氏之王天下也,仰则现象于天,俯则视法于地,观鸟兽之文与地之宜,…     

丹霞地貌定义的认知路线图

2009年第7届国际地貌学大会上,由大会主席提议,国际地貌学家协会批准设立“IAG丹霞地貌工作组”。2010年第34届世界遗产大会“中国丹霞”成功申遗。这两大事件标志着中国土生土长的丹霞地貌走向了世界,登上了国际学术舞台。但是,丹霞地貌提出的原定义缺乏专业规范的科学表述,产生了不应有的认知误区,引起了后期丹霞地貌研究的诸多争议与国际地貌学界无法进行全球对比交流等弊端。文章梳理了丹霞地貌定义的专业缺陷、容易产生误解的术语及误区,运用科学抽象方法与认知路线图,对原定义去伪存真,遵循“分离—提纯—简化”的程序提取了丹霞地貌的本质特征和规律,提出了适用于全球对比的丹霞地貌科学定义:以流水侵蚀为主,并在重力崩塌、风化、溶蚀等外营力综合作用下,形成的以陡崖坡为坡面特征的红层地貌。     

试论科学编史学的语境化综合

关于科学史研究走向综合,科学史学界已达成共识,但就如何实现综合还没有统一可行的方法。自然科学研究的语境化,科学史研究本身的语境化,科学哲学与SSK等研究的语境化,史学理论研究的语境化四个方面,阐明了科学编史学综合化的必然性,表明科学史研究必将走向语境论的科学编史学综合,这也将成为科学史研究的重要的方法论原则。     

《李俨钱宝琮科学史全集》:科学史家的纪念碑

１９９８年１２月，１０卷本的《李俨钱宝琮科学史全集》（以下简称《全集》）由辽宁教育出版社正式出版，这可以说是中国科学史界的一件大事，也是中国科学史出版史上的一个里程碑。纵观国际上与科学相关的出版物，许多著名科学家大多有纪念性的文集留传于世，而一些顶级的科学大师，或是在某一国地位突出的科学家，亦可见有全集出版。与近代科学的发展相比，科学史是一个诞生较晚的学科，也是一个发展相对滞后，且至今规模仍相当有限的小学科。虽然在科学史的历史上，也像其它学科一样有著名的奠基者或大师为这门学科的发展做出过不可磨灭…     

北魏太安至皇兴时期天象记录的年代问题

对《魏书·天象志》中的天象记录进行了统计分析,发现太安至皇兴13年间(457-469)的连续62条可以计算验证的天象记录中,有59条记录的年份都恰好提前了一年.这可能是魏志抄宋志而于年代比对发生错误,也可能是北魏纪年本身的错误.
