Development of the Zinc-air Power Battery on Electric Bikes in China

Electric bicycles powered by lead-acid batteries have developed very fast for several years in China. Because the inconvenience caused by the service performance and the inconsistency to the environmental protection policy of the lead-acid battery, the zinc-air power battery was proposed to solve the problem in this paper. The advantage and the feasibility of developing zinc-air power batteries in China have been illustrated in the paper. And, it is represented that development of electric bicycles powered by the zinc-air power battery also can accelerate this kind of battery＇s development in other electric vehicles, which is favorable to economic development and environmental protection.     

Development and application of WebGIS middleware in oil production engineering

WebGIS is the result of combining the technology of Internet with that of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This paper aims at some problems in the development of GIS. such as the system of development is instable, and presents the method of adopting component technology to accomplish WebGIS middleware which has been successfully applied to the Oil Production Engineering information visible system. It showed in practice that the WebGIS middleware can be easily embedded in the web pages to accomplish GIS application system in a network environment. On the one band. its application can reduce complexity of system and speed up the pace of development. On the other hand. it is certain to reduce the development costs and improve the main tainability.     

Ecological Impact Analysis of Tidal Flat Development ——A Case of Qingdao Joy Coastal City

In recent years,tidal flat development project in coastal cities in China continuously advancing practice proved that tidal flat development project is the coastal cities of effective measures to resolve the land factors of economic development limitation,but at the same time the impact of the environment and the using of tidal flat development become the focus of attention.Analysis the coastal shoreline development and economic utilization,social benefits and the impact on the ecological environment combined with Qingdao joy of coastal project is under construction and proposed management measures to provide a theoretical basis for the tidal flat development and management has a very important significance.     

Trend of urban system structure under the restriction of water and land resources in Xinjiang

On the basis of studies on water and land resources affecting urban development and urban system structure in Xinjiang, this paper analyzes the utilization status and shortage of urban water resources. It is considered that both the consumption and waste of urban water resources are in an increase trend. Most cities and towns in Xinjiang are in shortage of water resources, however, waste of water resources are serious, especially in small towns. The development of the megapolis and moderate cities is evidently restricted by limited land resources. Though there are relatively large spaces of expanding the small cities and towns, the output benefits of water and land resources are low. In order to achieve the ordinal expansion of urban system structure in Xinjiang, it is suggested to take the urban spatial development pattern of ＂one circle and three belts＂ and the resources-economized strategy in the rapid development of urbanization.     

Tone features in whispered Chinese

Study on the whispered tone is important to speech recognition and conversion in whispered Chinese. In this paper, the characteristics of whispered speech are introduced and the tone features in whispered Chinese are discussed. There is no fundamental frequency in the whispered speech, so other features, such as the amplitude envelope, duration, glottal area, lip area, forrnant, and vocal tract length, are extracted and their contributions to the automatic tone recognition are compared. From the experiments with six simple Chinese whispered vowels in four tones, it is proved that loudness-weighted 32 Mel-frequency bands log-amplitude envelopes and duration can be used as the main tone features in the whispered Chinese tone recognition. The average tone recognition rate approaches that of the human perception level.

DEX1, a plasma membrane-localized protein, functions in microspore development by affecting CalS5 expression in Arabidopsis thaliana

Microsporogenesis in flowering plants plays important roles in sexual reproduction. It has been reported that DEFECTIVE IN EXINE FORMATION1 (DEX1) is essential for exine pattern formation in Arabidopsis thaliana. However, the functions of DEX1 in regulating microspore development are largely not understood. In this study, we show that DEX1 is strongly expressed in the tapetum by using RNA in situ hybridization. dex1 microspores were degenerated and aborted after release from the tetrads. The callose wall in tetrads was thinner in the dex1 mutant than in the wild type, suggesting that DEX1 affects callose formation at the tetrad stage during anther development. RT-PCR and real-time PCR analyses showed that CalS5, which plays an important role in callose synthesis during microspore development, was greatly down-regulated in dex1 plants. DEX1 encodes a membrane protein with one transmembrane domain, one intracellular domain and one extracellular domain. Collectively, our results demonstrate that DEX1 is essential for microspore development, possibly by regulating the expression of CalS5.

A Study on Animal Words from Illocutionary Perspectives

The paper lies in the exploration of animal words both in English and in Chinese from illocutionary perspectives. The essay starts with a review of related studies on animal words and gives a brief introduction of the speech act theory. Then it analyses some differences between English and Chinese animal words because of the different cultural backgrounds. The essay shows that animal metaphors embody illocutionary forces. When indirect speech act is applied to reflect communication intention, metaphorical sentences with animal words bring up stronger illocutionary forces. The essay attempts to carry out a further study on animal words.
