Summary The isolation and characterisation of three new alkaloids fromVinca minor L. is described: Vincadine C21H28N2O2, Minovine C22H28N2O2, and Vincorine C22H28N2O3 belonging to the indol- and dihydroindol alkaloids.

Summary The trail and alarm pheromones of P. pungens were investigated. The nine fatty acids (C140, C160, C161, C180, C181, C182, C183, C204, C205) were the components of the trail pheromone, while the alarm pheromone was found to be the mixture of 4 monoterpene hydrocarbons (-pinene, camphene, -pinene, limonene).The authors are indebted to Dr Masao Kubota for identification of the ant.  相似文献

Summary The effects of selected -agonists and -antagonists on theophylline-induced lipolysis were investigate in isolated hamster white fat cells 2-Agonists (tramazoline, clonidine) inhibited theophylline-induced lipolysis while an 2-agonist (methoxamine) was without any effect. The inhibitory effect of 2-agonists was suppressed by yohimbine (2-antagonist), whereas 2-antagonists were inefficient. This result implies that the -adrenergic receptor of hamster fat cells is of the 2-type, although located postsynaptically.Acknowledgments. Summary The intensity of sound-induced convulsions in the genetically epilepsy-prone rat (GEPR) was reduced in a dose related fashion by intracerebroventricular administration of dobutamine, (1 agonist), terbutaline (2 agonist) or phenylephrine (1 agonist). BHT-920 (2 agonist) did not cause a dose-related decrease in sound-induced convulsion intensity. Binding studies showed that whole brain and receptor densities (Bmax) were normal while the Kd was increased for the ligand in GEPR brain.Acknowledgment. A new radioimmunoassay has been developed for thymosin 4 by generating rabbit polyclonal antibodies against the synthetic N-terminal peptide fragment 1–15 coupled to KLH. The synthetic analogue [Tyr12]-thymosin 4 (1–15) was used as tracer. This radioimmunoassay, with a useful range of 10–1000 pmoles, showed cross-reactivity with the second homologous -thymosin of man and rat (thymosin 10) but not of calf (thymosin 9). This radioimmunoassay, together with an improved radioimmunoassay for the N-terminus of parathymosin , was employed for the measurement of the levels of thymosin 4 and parathymosin in nuclear and extranuclear extracts of calf thymus. The bulk of these polypeptides was found in the extranuclear material whereas only traces were observed in the nuclear environment, which indicates the extranuclear localisation of - and -thymosins.  相似文献

Summary Seeds and fruit walls ofPharbitis purpurea contain in addition to the free gibberellins A8, A3, A5, more polar gibberellin-like substances, so-called bound gibberellins tentatively namedPharbitis and. After purification by thin layer chromatography, these 2 substances were treated with both Ficin and Emulsin in buffered solutions of pH 6.2. After treatment with Emulsin, the free gibberellins A8 and A5, after treatment with Ficin the gibberellins A3 and A5, were detectable in thin layer chromatograms.  相似文献

Summary The author treats 2 topics connected with his studies on the cytogenetics of the African pigmy-mice. (1)Mus (Leggada) bufo Th. shows the primitive complement already detected in other species or subspecies (minutoides ssp 1,indutus, tenellus, setulosus): 2N=36,N.F.=36, sex chromosomesPR. (2) The deletion of the short arm of oneX-chromosome (X dc ) was previously observed as heterozygous mutation by 4 in a sample of 7 and 5 . A more important sample (18 , 21 ) gives the following results: 11 X-X, 10 X-X dc , 18 X-Y. The occurrence of X dc -X dc and of X dc -Y is also very improbable. It is not easy to understand how the chromosomeX dc may persist in the population if the complementsX dc -X dc andX dc -Y are lethal, which seems to result from these observations.  相似文献

Summary In a group of 84 pairs of 11-year-old children of both sexes, the level of the 1-antitrypsin ( 1-AT) were ascertained in the autumn and spring. Although the mean levels of 1-AT in the two seasons hardly differed, the highly significant seasonal changes in the distribution curves of 1-AT values were noted in boys, whereas the levels showed higher stability in girls.  相似文献

Gender- and site-related differences in the lipolytic capacity, at the different steps of the adrenergic pathway, in gonadal and inguinal white adipose tissue (WAT), were assessed by studying 2A-adrenergic receptor (AR), 3-AR and hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) protein levels, and by determining the lipolytic response to different agents. Gonadal WAT showed a lower 2A/3-AR ratio, a greater lipolytic capacity in response to AR agonists, and higher HSL activity and protein levels than inguinal WAT. In female rats, we found greater 2A-AR protein levels and 2A/3-AR ratio compared to their male counterparts, but, on the other hand, a higher lipolytic response to -AR agonists and a greater lipolytic capacity at the postreceptor level, including a more activated HSL protein. Thus, the lipolytic capacity was clearly higher in gonadal than in inguinal WAT, at the different steps of the adrenergic pathway studied. Moreover, in both tissues, females showed a greater inhibition of lipolysis via 2-AR, which was counteracted by the higher lipolytic capacity at the postreceptor level.Received 1 April 2003; received after revision 11 June 2003; accepted 23 June 2003  相似文献

A major cytokinin found in coconut milk was isolted by using the tobacco callus growth-promoting assay as a guide during purification. The structure of the factor was determined to be 14-O-{3-O-[-d-galactopyranosyl-(12)--d--galactopyranosyl-(13)--L-arabinofuranosyl]-4-O-(-L-arabinofuranosyl)--d-galactopyranosyl}-trans-zeatin riboside [G3A2-ZR] by various NMR techniques, including heteronuclear multiple bond connectivity by 2D multiple quantum NMR (HMBC), as well as mass spectroscopy and sugar analysis. The optimum concentration of G3A2-ZR for cytokinin activity in the tobacco callus assay was estimated to be 5×10–6 M, so that G3A2-ZR is one order of magnitude more potent than 1,3-diphenylurea and one order less potent than zeatin riboside. At least 20% of the cytokinin activity of coconut milk could be attributed to G3A2-ZR.  相似文献

The present paper studied the effect and mechanism of neurosteroid pregnenolone sulfate (PREGS) on spontaneous glutamate release using electrophysiological and biochemical methods combined with a pharmacological approach. The results suggested that PREGS had a selective enhancing effect on spontaneous glutamate release in the prelimbic cortex and the hippocampus but not in the striatum. The effect of PREGS in the prelimbic cortex appeared to be via modulation of 1-adrenergic and 1 receptors, but in the hippocampus it might be dependent on 1 receptors only. The activation of 1-adrenergic receptors synergized 1 receptor activation in the prelimbic cortex. Intracellular calcium released from the endoplasmic reticulum, protein kinase C, adenylyl cyclase and protein kinase A played a key role in the effect of PREGS. Summary The effects of injury on the concentration of 1-macroglobulin and 2-macroglobulin in the plasmas of male and female rats has been investigated. At 5 days after injury to the male rats the 1-macroglobulin concentration increased to 131% of its preinjury value. The 2-macroglobulin concentration increased more rapidly to a maximum of 86 times its initial value. In the female rats 2-macroglobulin increased only slightly and 1-macroglobulin not at all.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Nach. i.v. Gabe von 7-3H-Dehydroepiandrosteron wurde menschliches Plasma einer präparativen Zonenelektrophorese unterworfen und in Albumine, 1-, 2-,- und-Globuline zerlegt. Aus den einzelnen Proteinfraktionen trennte man freie Steroide, Steroid-Sulfokonjugate und -Glukuronoside ab und untersuchte letztere Fraktionen auf ihren Gehalt an markierten C19-Steroiden. Es zeigte sich, dass die Steroid-Sulfokonjugate vornehmlich in der Proteinfraktion der Albumine, die Steroid-Glukuronoside dagegen bevorzugt in der Proteinfraktion der 1-Globuline auftraten.  相似文献

Summary The acid dissociation constants of nicotianamine (1) (pK1=6.97, pK2=9.13, pK3=9.75; 0.1 M KClO4, 25°C) and the stability constants for its 11 complexes with bivalent metal ions (log KCu=18.6, log KNi=16.1, log KCo=14.8, log KZn=14.7, log KFe=12.1, log KMn=8.8, log KMg4.5; 0.1 M KClO4, 25°C) were determined using potentiometric titrations in aqueous solution. Summary The D-galactose specific lectin fromViscum album L. reacts with serum proteins that contain the corresponding D-galactopyranosyl residues. By affinity chromatography of human serum on lectin-sepharose IgM, 2-macroglobulin, haptoglobin and -lipoprotein were quantitatively retained. Only parts of IgA, IgG and transferrin were retarded. Summary 2-PAG is present on the surface of mononuclear blood leucocytes and can be demonstrated predominantly on B-lymphocytes and monocytes. Pretreatment of cells with antibody to 2-PAG leads to a marked reduction in Fc-rosette formation. Competitive blocking experiments with specific antisera reveal a particularly close asociation between 2-PAG and MLR (mixed leucocyte reaction) determinants on the cell surface. These findings suggest one mechanism whereby 2-PAG may modify cell-mediated immune responses.  相似文献

In intact tissue, [d-Ala2,MePhe4, Gly-ol5] enkephalin (10–5 M;-ligand), diminsihed short-circuit current (Isc) and increased water, Na+ and Cl net fluxes in vitro under open circuit conditions; it also inhibitedL-valine absorption andL-valine-dependent variations of short-circuit current (Isc, val). Naloxone (10–6 M) antagonized these effects. In the absence of the muscularis and myenteric plexus this enkephalin or morphine (-ligand) reduced Isc and Isc, val. These enkephalin effects occurred at different times. Different concentrations of enkephalin were tested for their effects on Isc, val. [d-Ala2,d-Leu5] enkephalin (mainly a -ligand) significantly decreased Isc but not Isc, val. The reduction ofL-valine absorption does not depend on the effects on basal ion transport. Interaction of opioids with-receptors located in the submucosal plexus and/or in the epithelial cell accounts for this reduction. This enkephalin effect seems to be at least partially under the control of the myenteric plexus.  相似文献
