Zusammenfassung Die Dihydrosulfoxidgruppe wird als potentielle Wirkungsgruppe für die Photolyse von Wasser zur Diskussion gestellt. Die Möglichkeiten der Elektronenübertragung von Cytochromdihydrosulfoxid werden erwogen.

The phytotoxic protein PcF (Phytophthora cactorum-Fragaria) is a 5.6-kDa cysteine-rich, hydroxyproline- containing protein that is secreted in limited amounts by P. cactorum, an oomycete pathogen of tomato, strawberry and other relevant crop plants. Although we have shown that pure PcF triggers plant reactivity, its mechanism of action is not yet understood. Here we show that PcF, like other known fungal protein elicitors involved in pathogen-plant interaction, stimulates the activity of the defense enzyme phenylalanine ammonia a key step in understanding the mechanism of action of PcF at a molecular level is knowledge of its three-dimensional structure, we overexpressed this protein extracellularly in Pichia pastoris. The preliminary structural and functional characterization of a recombinant PcF homologue, N4-rPcF, is reported. Interestingly, although N4-rPcF is devoid of proline hydroxylation and has four additional amino acid residues attached to its N terminus, its secondary structure and biological activity are indistinguishable from wild-type PcF.Received 22 February 2003; received after revision 25 March 2003; accepted 14 April 2003  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Eine Gruppe von teilweise chemisch charakterisierten Verbindungen, welche die Vermehrung des Influenza-Virus in Huhnembryo-Test verhindern, wurde aus den SeesternenAsterias forbesi, Asterias pectinifera undAcanthaster planci isoliert.

Summary Cornea regeneration in a Pacific giant octopus,Octopus dofleini, occurred within 10 days after the injury was observed. Surgical removal of the cornea in 2 common octopi,O. vulgaris experimentally duplicated this cornea regeneration within a 10-day period. It is, therefore, concluded that besides sucking discs, arms, and nerve fibres, octopi can also regenerated corneal tissue.The authors would like to thank U. E. Friese, B. Borowski, P. Burn, J.W. Zusammenfassung Eine Voruntersuchung der Insektengruppe Lepidoptera auf anti-tumor-aktive Stoffe führte zu einer detaillierten chemischen Prüfung der aus Asien stammenden SchmetterlingeCatopsilia crocale Cramer (Pieridae) undPieris rapae cruavora. Ein bedeutender Teil der Anti-Tumor-Aktivität scheint ihren Ursprung in der chemischen Substanz Isoxanthopterin zu besitzen.

Summary Ecdysteroid titers were measured in whole-body extracts of pedogenetically reproducing larvae of the dipteran insectHeteropeza pygmaea and in the dietary fungus. The titers are very low in the first 3 days of larval growth, but increase during the last 2 days. The level of 20-hydroxyecdysone is then significantly higher than that of ecdysone. Measurements of the titers in the fungus gave no conclusive results.Supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation, grants No. 3.218-0.77 to D.F.W. and 3.714-0.80 to B.L. By means of gas chromatographic and mass spectroscopic methods, and combined GC-electroantennogram and electrosensillogram techniques, (E)-11-hexadecenal and (10E, 12E)-10,12-hexadecadienal [(E,E)-bombykal is also the main constituent of the pheromone of the silver-striped hawk-mothHippotion celerio. It has been suggested that a common sex pheromone composition may account for interspecific sexual interactions observed with certain moths in the Arctiidae. In this study, it is demonstrated that the sex pheromones released by females of the Scarlet Tiger Moth,Callimorpha dominula L., and the Cinnabar Moth,Tyria jacobaeae L., have similar activities and elute at the same retention time on analysis by coupled gas chromatography (GC)-electrophysiology with males from each species. Peak enhancement on GC, chiral GC and coupled GC-mass spectrometry using authentic compounds show that the sex pheromone for bothC. dominula andT. jacobaeae is (3Z,6Z,9S,10R)-9,10-epoxyheneicosa-3,6-diene.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Die optische Rotationsdispersion sowie das Infrarotund Ultraviolett-Absorptionsspektrum von mehreren-Bromderivaten der 16-Keto- und 17-Ketosteroide wurde gemessen. Die Schlussfolgerungen aus Rotationsdispersion und Infrarotanalyse stimmen gut überein, es scheint jedoch, dass die Verschiebungen im Ultraviolett zur Bestimmung der Orientierung eines Halogenatoms in-Bromocyclopentanonen nicht in allen Fällen gebraucht werden können.

Zusammenfassung 3-[4-(p-Fluorphenyl)-1,2,3,6-te-trahydro-1-pyridyl]-1-[1-(2-hydroxyaethyl)-5-methyl-4-pyrazolyl]-1-propanon (I, CIBA 4416/B-Go) senkt bei normotonischen und hypertonischen Tieren den Blutdruck. Die Drucksenkung kann hauptsächlich auf die periphere Vasodilatation sowie auf die Vasomotorenzentren bezogen werden. Ausserdem wirkt CIBA 4416/B-Go adrenolytisch.

Summary The synthesis of the antibiotic novobiocin is described. First the essential carbohydrate, the 3-O-carbamoylnoviose was synthesized fromd-glucose. A number of steps (1–6) led to the 3,5,6-tri-O-benzyl-2-O-methyl-d-galactono--lactone (6) which is characterized by the correct array of carbon atoms inherent to the noviose. Further transformations (7–15) finally yielded the carbohydrate. The problem of glycosidation is discussed in some detail. Glycosidation of a suitable aglycon precursor (18) with 2,3-O-carbonyl--noviosyl-chloride (22) proved possible and led to the isolation of an-glycoside (23) which was further transformed (24–28) into novobiocin.

Summary Chromosome studies on 8 species of EuropeanCryptocephalus; C. aureolus Suffr.,C. capucinus Suffr.,C. globicollis Suffr.,C. hypochoeridis L.,C. moraei L.,C. rugicollis Ol.,C. sexpustulatus Vill., andC. violaceus Laich. have shown an identical karyotypic formula, 14II+Xyr, 2n=30. Most species ofCryptocephalus share 2n=30 chromosomes. The only interspecific differences are in the size of bivalents and in the sex-determining systems. The chromosomal interrelationships ofCryptocephalus with other allied groups are also discussed.  相似文献

Resumen El analisis de la primera división meiótica des roeder fosorial,Thomomys bottae, muestra una uniformidad notable en la colocación de quiasmas en los bivalentes, a pesar de las diferencias existentes en los cariotipos somáticos. La frecuencia promedio de quiasmas por bivalente es muy baja (1.03), y la mayoria de los bivalentes demuestran que sus quiasmas se localizan en o cerca de un estremo del par.

Résumé On décrit une méthode pour l'établissement d'une culture de cellules du crapaud a griffes sudafricain,Xenopus laevis, afin de l'infecter avec des arbovirus. Les cellules (XTC-2) ont subi une culture continue pendant 3 ans. Elles ont un nombre diploïde de chromosomes. Elles furent cultivées aux températures de 22°C et de 28°C dans un milieu de culture dilué de NCTC 109 avec 10% de sérum de veau foetal.
