Absence de correlation entre serotype et lysotype chezPseudomonas aeruginosa

Zusammenfassung Kaninchen wurden mit den thermostabilen Antigenen einesPseudomonas aeruginosa-Stammes immunisiert. Der Stamm mit den O-Faktoren 4a und 10a nachLanyi gehört einem oft gefundenen Lysotyp an. Das gewonnene Serum agglutiniert einen Teil derPseudomonas aeruginosa-Stämme aus dem Kantonsspital Lausanne bei Verdünnungen von mindestens 1/160 oder mehr, den anderen Teil der Stämme jedoch nicht. Die Lysotypen-Verteilung in beiden serologischen Gruppen zeigt, dass keine Beziehungen zwischen Lysotypie und Serotypie festgestellt werden können, zumindest solange man ein bifaktorielles Serum verwendet.

Do the products of messenger RNA hydrolysis cause ‘cloudy swelling’?

Résumé L'actinomycin D et les températures d'incubation dépassant l'optimum de croissance causent indépendamment une dégradation de l'ARN instable chezTetrahymena pyriformis vivant. L'dème cellulaire se produit simultanément et il est proportionnel au degré de dépolymérisation. Puisque les effets de l'antibiotique et les changements de température sont additif, ces observations suggèrent que les produits de hydrolyse peuvent aboutir à l'accumulation excessive de l'eau dans la cellule.

Thiamine diphosphatase in rat small intestine

Summary TDPase is located mostly in the proximal portion of the small intestine and its activity, like that of ALPase, decreased markedly in thiamine deficiency. The decreased enzyme activities were restored after thiamine or vitamin D₃. Kinetic and other studies of the purified enzyme indicated the identity of the two enzymes.Acknowledgment. We thank Miss.T. Termination of diapause by juvenoids in two species of ladybirds (Coccinellidae)

Zusammenfassung Die Wirkung von 18 Juvenilhormon-Mimetica auf Marienkäfer,Semiadalia undecimnotata undCoccinella septempunctata, wurde verglichen. Rund die Hälfte der Substanzen bewirkte Eireifung, 5 Substanzen auch Eiablage. Von den abgelegten Eiern entwikkelten sich ca. 50% zu normalen Käfern.

Behaviour of sodium-potassium-activated adenosine triphosphatase in rat kidney tissue by folic acid

Myopathic changes at the end-plate region induced by neostigmine methylsulfate

Summary Administration of large dose of neostigmine caused very quickly marked myopathic changes at the motor end-plate region. With continued injections, however some recovery of the structural features did occur suggesting the reconstructive changes in the affected regions.Acknowledgment.
