Combustion characteristics of unburned pulverized coal and its reaction kinetics with CO2

The combustion characteristics of two kinds of unburned pulverized coal (UPC) made from bituminous coal and anthracite were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis under air. The reaction kinetics mechanisms between UPC and CO₂ in an isothermal experiment in the temperature range 1000-1100℃ were investigated. The combustion performance of unburned pulverized coal made from bituminous coal (BUPC) was better than that of unburned pulverized coal made from anthracite (AUPC). The combustion characteristic indexes (S) of BUPC and AUPC are 0.47×10-6 and 0.34×10-6%2·min-2·℃-3, respectively, and the combustion reaction apparent activation energies are 91.94 and 102.63 kJ·mol-1, respectively. The reaction mechanism of BUPC with CO₂ is random nucleation and growth, and the apparent activation energy is 96.24 kJ·mol-1. By contrast, the reaction mechanism of AUPC with CO₂ follows the shrinkage spherical function model and the apparent activation energy is 133.55 kJ·mol-1.

密度泛函理论方法研究稀土-过渡金属化合物的磁性和自旋密度图

Magnetic coupling constants J for the complete structures of rare earth\|transition metal compounds:LGdCu(NO\-3)\-3·Me\-2CO(1,Gd(Ⅲ)Cu(Ⅱ)) and [Ce(C\-4H\-7ON)\-4(H\-2O)\-3][Cr(CN)\-6]·2H\-2O(2, Ce(Ⅲ)Cr(Ⅲ)) have been calculated by the combination of the broken\|symmetry approach with the spin project method under the DFT framework.The J value for 1 is a small number in absolute value -2 4cm -1 for calculation,3 5cm -1 for experimental measurement.The spin density distributions are in detail discussed on the basis of Mulliken population analysis,taking into account the coexistence of spin delocalization and spin polarization mechanisms.For 1,the spin distribution in the ground state may be understood as a result of the competition between two mechanisms:a spin delocalization from Cu(Ⅱ) and a spin polarization of Gd(Ⅲ),and the former is dominant.In the case of 2,both transition metal Cr(Ⅲ) and rare earth Ce(Ⅲ) display a spin polarization effect on the surrounding atoms,where a counteraction of the opposite polarization effects leads a low spin density on the bridging ligand C1N1.In the ground state of 2,the stronger polarization effect of Cr(Ⅲ) even causes the positive spin density on the adjacent bridging atom N1.

Characterization and chemical surface texturization of bulk ZnTe crystals grown by temperature gradient solution growth

Using tellurium as a solvent, we grew ZnTe ingots of 30 mm in diameter and 70 mm in length by a temperature gradient solution growth method. Hall tests conducted at 300 K indicated that the as-grown ZnTe exhibits p-type conductivity, with a carrier concentration of approximately 1014 cm-3, a mobility of approximately 300 cm2·V-1·s-1, and a resistivity of approximately 102 Ω·cm. A simple and effective method was proposed for chemical surface texturization of ZnTe using an HF:H₂O₂:H₂O etchant. Textures with the sizes of approximately 1 μm were produced on {100}, {110}, and {111}_Zn surfaces after etching. The etchant is also very promising in crystal characterization because of its strong anisotropic character and Te-phase selectivity.

Development of inclusions in 3104 alloy melt during heating and holding treatments

Developments in the contents of different typical inclusions in 3104 alloy melt were described during heating and holding processing. The settling process of inclusion particles was investigated by measuring the contents of inclusions in the surface, center, and bottom layers of the molten metal. In the results, main inclusions observed and determined by Prefil and PoDFA methods are MgO, Al₂O₃, spinel (MgAl₂O₄), and TiB₂ particles or thin films. It is found that some small particles of Al₂O₃ and MgO are transformed into spinel particles, and the formation rate increases as the temperature and the holding period of melt increase. The content of inclusions increases from 3.37 mm2·kg-1 to 7.54 mm2·kg-1 and then decreases to 3.08 mm2·kg-1 after holding for 90 min. This is attributed to a settling phenomenon and a significant increase in settling velocity after holding for 60 min. The content of inclusion particles decreases by means of settlement and flotation in liquid aluminum with an increase in holding time. The theoretical analysis and experiment results are in essential agreement with those from industrial production.     

The v-v energy transfer of highly vibrationally excitedstates (Ⅱ)──Vibrational quenching of CO(v) by H_2O

The vibrational energy transfer from highly vibrationally excited CO to H 2O molecules is studied by time-resolved Fourier transform infrared emission spectroscopy (TR FTIR). Following the 193 nm laser photolysis of CHBr 3 and O 2 the secondary reactions generate CO(v). The infrared emission of CO(v→v-1) is detected by TR FTIR. The excitation of H 2O molecules is not observed. By the method of the spectral simulation and the differential technique, 8 rate constants for CO(v)/H 2O system are obtained: (1.7±0.1), (3.4±0.2), (6.2±0.4), (8.0±1.0), (9.0±2.0), (12±3), (16±4) and (18±7) (10 -13cm 3·molecule -1·s -1). At least two reasons lead to the efficient energy transfer. One is the contributions of the rotational energy to the vibational energy defect and the other is the result of the complex collision. With the SSH and ab initio calculations, the quenching mechanism of CO(v) by H 2O is suggested.
