Two-Level Genetic Algorithm for Clustered Traveling Salesman Problem with Application in Large-Scale TSPs

Let G = (V, E) be a complete undirected graph with vertex set V, edge set E, and edge weights l(e) satisfying the triangle inequality. The vertex set V is partitioned into clusters V1, V2, …, Vk. The clustered traveling salesman problem (CTSP) seeks to compute the shortest Hamiltonian tour that visits all the verti- ces, in which the vertices of each cluster are visited consecutively. A two-level genetic algorithm (TLGA) was developed for the problem, which favors neither intra-cluster paths nor inter-cluster paths, thus realized inte- grated evolutionary optimization for both levels of the CTSP. Results show that the algorithm is more effec- tive than known algorithms. A large-scale traveling salesman problem (TSP) can be converted into a CTSP by clustering so that it can then be solved by the algorithm. Test results demonstrate that the clustering TLGA for large TSPs is more effective and efficient than the classical genetic algorithm.

Vapor corridor phenomenon and response of vegetation NPP in Longitudinal Range-Gorge Region

To study the causation and ecological effect of ＂Corridor＂ phenomena in the Longitudinal Range-Gorge Region （LRGR） in South China and South-East Asian. Supported by the geographic information system （GIS）, vegetation, climate and topography database of the LRGR are founded, The northernmost limit of the tropical rain forest is 28ο-22, which has been promoted 3 or 4 latitude by Vapor ＂Corridor Phenomenon＂. Through ANN analysis, landform proves to be a very important factor affecting NPP distribution. Affected by longitudinal valley landform and monsoon, moisture and quantity of heat has a longitudinal belt distribution, and NPP distribution has seemly distribution. Take Lyonia ovalifolia, Myrica nana scrub as an example, high NPP valuescrub distributes on a wet-tongue area in the valleys. The minimum temperature sensitive value to NPP is 1.588, and altitude is 1.053, precipitation is 1.006, aspect is 1.003. Corridor phenomenon in the LRGR formed special moisture and heat patterns and brings about a series of ecological effects, such as influencing space distribution of vegetation form and NPP spatial patterns of both vegetations and plants.     

Instant Messaging Worms Propagation Simulation and Countermeasures

Instant messaging （IM） has become one of the most popular online communication tools among consumer and enterprise IM users. It provides instant message delivery, as well as convenient file transfer services. The increasing popularity and functionalities of IM programs have made it increasingly attractive for attackers, especially for worm writers. IM contact list offers worm an easy way of finding potential victims so that the worm could achieve a surprising spreading speed. This paper first presents our experimental results of simulating IM worm propagation in the logical network defined by IM contact lists, which is reported to be a scale-free network. Then, the existing proposals for detecting and containing IM worm epidemics are discussed. At last, a new algorithm for this purpose is presented, which is based on the observation of the bi-directional nature of IM worm traffic, and its advantages and possible improvements in implementation are analyzed. The simulation results show the proposed algorithm is of significant effect on restricting IM worm propagation.
