Shakespeare,the colossus in English literature,writes thirty-seven world-famous plays as well as one hundred and fifty-four universally appreciatedsonnets during English Renaissance period.His sonnets are the crystallization of his deep thought and his perfect art.Sonnets127-154 are addressed to a dark-skinnedwoman.This woman is not a fashionable beauty,but she is very attractive.Also she is dissolute in nature and experienced in loving affairs.The sonnets are focused on the entanglement between the poet and her.His point of view towards the woman is contradictory:he praises his deeply loving girl,and at the same time he blames her disloyalty.

W.J.F.jenner is a well-known English writer and translator, whose English version Journey to the West was published by Foreign Language Press in 1984. ﹙first edition ,1982. second edition, 1984.﹚The writing in the English version is pure and fluent, and the selection of word is concise and precise .On top of this ,the English version is loyal to the content and style of the original book .Besides, Jenner's Translation is flexible according to different context . For example , the two Chinese Word "泼猴"appear many times in the first eight chapters in the original book , but Jenner translated them each time differently,as well as marvelously and appropriately . The flexibility of transition matches the concrete context and it is not only loyal to the original language, but it corresponds to the style of English language. All this is what we should learn from in our practice of translation.     

Eustacia——Victim of Fate——On Thomas Hardy''''s The Return of the Native

Owing to the influences of Greek's view of fate, Dorset peasant's fatalism and Schopenhauer' s pessimistic philosophy, Hardy showed more or less a pessimistic tendency in his early writings and this tendency illustrated itself in his writing of Eustacia, heroine of The Return of the Native. He believed that Eustacia' s tragedy resulted from the disagreement between her aspiration for a brilliant life outside Egdon Heath and the fate imposed on her by some mysterious force working at odds with her. On Ernest Hemingway＇s Views about Women

Emest Hermngway is famous for his ＂masculinity＂ style in his writing. Meanwhile, he also describes female characters and their strengths and reveals his own sensitivity to gender issues. His early exposure to women is from his upbringing dominatrix. His failure on marriage plays an important role on his works. In his mind, women are the combination of angel and evil. They act elegantly and attract men＇s heart, but sometimes they are changeable. Catherine Barkley is a typical angel except her suspect. Catherine Bourne is an evil though she is charming. Even to escape the cruel reality. At the same time they know they can＇ t cast the society. Hemingway pays more attention on women＇s feelings in his writing. On the one hand, he respects women＇s elegance, beauty and view on love. He wants to get love and care from them. On the other hand, he holds in awe on women. He assumes women are changeable, and is afraid of being hurt. Hemingway＇ s mind is full of conflicts, and his love, hatred, sympathy belong to not merely male, but also female. No matter she is angel or evil, he can＇t help himself and his readers falling in love with these women of extraordinary beauty.     

Translation Strategies for Dealing with Cultural Vacancy from the Perspective of Cultural Schemata

This paper demonstrates the role of cultural schemata in the process of dealing with cultural vacancy in translation,and then,it points out the criterion for the translation of cultural vacancy is to see whether the corresponding cultural schema is fully transformed.On the basis of the ideas discussed,the paper proposed six translating methods to deal with cultural vacancy in translation:transliteration,literal translation or transliteration with notes,literal translation or transliteration plus proper explanation,compensation,borrowing and free translation.It is proposed that all this translating methods should proceed from the perspective of cultural schemata so as to excavate the cultural meaning from a deeper level
