Abstract:In view of the characteristics of high traffic density and complex ship types in Shanghai Port navigational waters,this study takes the method of combining expert consultation,questionnaire survey and theoretical analysis to enable machine decision-making to effectively simulate the decision-making of experienced pilots and deck officers to avoid ship collision.The first step is to collect the common avoidance decisions made by experienced pilots and deck officers in typical encounter situations in Shanghai Harber waters,and then more rational and efficient methods in theory are demonstrated through geometric analysis.Taking into account the pilotage culture of ‘Self Reliance,Proactive Avoidance’ in Shanghai Harber,the local management methods of Shanghai Harbor waters and the International Maritime Collision Avoidance Rules,a knowledge base of ship collision avoidance decision-making in Shanghai Harbor waters is constructed.This study provides a reliable knowledge basis for the design of the intelligent early warning and auxiliary decision-making system for ship collision avoidance in Shanghai Harbor waters,and creates a new solution for constructing a more orderly and safe navigation environment for ships in Shanghai Harbor waters.
