The capability of edge detection using Canny algorithm is analyzed. In order to avoid the defects of Canny algorithm,an improved adaptive edge-detection of Canny algorithm is brought forward.This algorithm atuo-adjusts the high and low threshold value of the edge examination by using gradient entropy and standard deviation accoding to the image edge grads information,so that improves the automaticity of edge-detection.
