Abstract:Phase change materials (PCM), combined with the building envelope, can effectively take advantage of the une-ven distribution of intermittent renewable energy, absorbing large amounts of heat with small temperature chang-es, reducing room temperature fluctuations. In this paper, the composite phase change coating was prepared by adding microcapsule phase change material into putty powder. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analyzer (TG) were used to characterize its microscopic mor-phology, phase change characteristics and thermal stability. The effect of the content of microcapsule phase change material (MPCM) on the heat storage and temperature control performance of the composite phase change coating was studied. The results show that the temperature change rate of the composite phase change coatings is slower than that of the ordindry coatings, and the surface temperature difference between the composite phase change coatings and the ordinary coatings increases with the increase of the content of the microcapsule phase change material. The composite phase change coating can obviously reduce the peak temperature and the fluctu-ation range of temperature, and can regulate the room temperature. The temperature difference between the composite phase change coatings and the ordinary coatings increases gradually, and the maximum value is 3.2 ℃.Compared with the ordinary coatings, with the increase of the content of microcapsule phase change ma-terial,the time of the composite phase change coatings indoor temperature holding 24~28 ℃ gradually in-creases,and the time of the composite phase change coatings containing 30% microcapsule phase change material holding 24~28 ℃ is 23.5 min longer than that of the ordinary coatings.
