The packing head motion control system of the packed-salt production line was studied in this article. The motion control of the whole system could be achieved by using personal computer and ACR 9000 controller as the control center of this system, and the Permanent Magnet Brushless Linear DC Motors and Compax3 drive as the complete NC system. Linear permanent magnet brushless DC motor could get the movement characteristics and working conditions by simulating packing machine head of the movement. Permanent Magnet Brushless Linear DC motor has many advantages such as high velocity, low vibration, low noise, and locating the position accurately. ACR 9000 controller adjusted by PID was used to collect the motion parameters. The whole system was improved with high efficiency, accuracy, and dynamic performance, and could meet the packing requirements.
